Springs PD investigating 3rd Saturday shooting

UPDATE: The suspect has been identified as 27-year-old Kyree Davon Howard-Walker. He is not in custody and is considered armed and dangerous.

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KRDO) -- Colorado Springs detectives are investigating a fatal shooting near Fountain Boulevard and Jet Wing Drive near the Fountain Springs Grove Apartments.

This is the third shooting within 24-hours in the city.

Sergeant Jason Newton says there is strong evidence to connect the Saturday shooting and carjacking sprees.

"If anybody has any information about any of the crimes that happened today, please contact us and let us know," Newton said. "Because we want to give closure to these families and hold the people accountable."

Christian Ryza, who lives nearby, says he heard several gunshots.

"We started looking through the house and we went to our daughter's room," Ryza said. "One bullet went through the wall which went through her closet. Then another bullet just went through the wall which was stopped by her poster." 

Ryza says several neighbors walk on the sidewalk where the man was shot, heading toward a nearby gas station.

"It's a good thing one of us wasn't walking home and would've witnessed that cause they might have shot one of us too," he said.

CSPD has not released the identity of the victim, described as a black adult male.
