Colorado Springs man arrested for suspected sharing of child sex abuse material

KRDO

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KRDO) -- A Colorado Springs man has been arrested for allegedly uploading child sexual abuse material on an online messaging platform.

According to the Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD), 35-year-old Curtis Vaughan was arrested at work after a search warrant was served at his house on Tuesday morning in the 3000 block of West Colorado Avenue.

Officials say in November of 2025, a tip was received by CSPD from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. The tip says a user on a messaging platform called "Kik" had reportedly uploaded an image of child sexual abuse material to a message.

CSPD says its Internet Crimes Against Children and Human Trafficking Unit took over and identified Vaughan as a suspect. Vaughan was arrested without incident.
