Monument Girl Scout holds holiday toy drive for children of deployed military
MONUMENT, Colo. -- Olivia Tighe is a high school junior and Girl Scout. This holiday season, she's collecting toys for local children of deployed service members.
Tighe's own father was often deployed during the holiday season. It was this personal experience that inspired her to undertake the work for her Girl Scout Gold Award Project.
So far, she's put about 70 hours into the project, titled "Presents for Patriots".

Tighe is accepting new, unwrapped toys at the following collection locations in Monument:
- Steller Styles
- RE/MAX Properties Monument
- Hamula
- Palmer Ridge and Lewis Palmer High Schools
- Arlene's Beans
She will also deliver collection boxes to specific businesses or community groups. Just email her at tigheolivia2021@gmail.com to request a collection box.
