24 Hour Fitness closes north Colorado Springs location
Another gym in Colorado Springs is shutting down due to coronavirus -- 24 Hour Fitness says it's closing its location on N. Academy Boulevard.
The company announced Monday that it filed for bankruptcy after the financial impacts caused by COVID-19. As a result, the company is closing 100 locations nationwide across 14 states.
Here in Colorado, 13 locations are shutting their doors. That includes the northside Colorado Springs gym.
If you are looking to get back to your 24 Hour Fitness location here in town, the Southgate and Austin Bluffs locations will open on July 7th with new social distancing guidelines implemented. That includes either maximum capacity at 50 people, or 25% capacity. Whichever number is lower.
According to 24 Hour Fitness, the filing will allow them to restructure and hopefully rebound in the future.
