Man arrested in Colorado Springs following June armed robbery investigation

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KRDO) -- The Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD) has arrested an aggravated robbery suspect one month after he robbed a business.

CSPD says 33-year-old Jabrison Kinchen was arrested Wednesday after investigators spotted him approaching a business in a manner "consistent with an attempted robbery," based on his clothing and demeanor.

The original incident took place back in June, when Kinchen allegedly robbed a business in the 400 block of North Murray Boulevard. CSPD says Kinchen displayed a gun, demanded money and then fled in a car.

After the incident, CSPD says its robbery unit took over and got surveillance video identifying Kinchen as the suspect.

On Wednesday, Kinchen was found approaching a business in the 4600 block of Town Center Drive, officials say. CSPD's tactical enforcement unit attempted to contact Kinchen, who fled on foot and was eventually tased.

CPSD says Kinchen was found with a gun on him at the time of his arrest. He was transported to the El Paso County Criminal Justice Center and charged with attempted aggravated robbery, weapons offenses, menacing and obstructing a peace officer.
