A Scorching Sunday

Today: The hottest temperatures of the week come in to play for Sunday. Colorado Springs is tracking a small showers from 4-6 pm. Thunderstorms will mainly affect the high country areas with Salida getting hit hard with heavy rain. The Aspen Acres burn scar area will likely get some heavy rain potentially causing a Flash Flood Warning from 6 pm until 12 am.

A heat advisory is still in place from 10 am until 9 pm for Canon City, Colorado Springs, Pueblo, and most of eastern Colorado besides Las Animas, and Huerfano Counties.

Tomorrow: 90-degree weather continues with temperatures well above average. However, the Monday high temperatures will be slightly cooler by a couple of degrees. 4-7 pm continues to be a hot spot for passing showers and thunderstorms. The high country areas are getting hit the hardest with heavy rain and lightning. especially through Teller County. I-25 stays mostly dry until 7-8 pm when a line of thunderstorms passes through.
