Pueblo Police searching for wanted suspect in early morning shooting

PUEBLO, Colo. (KRDO) -- The Pueblo Police Department (PPD) said it is investigating an early morning shooting off 14th Street and is searching for a 20-year-old suspect.

The department said it was called about the shooting in the 2800 block of E. 14th Street around 3:26 a.m. on Thursday.

Police say inside the home, they found one deceased person who has been identified by the Pueblo County Coroner as 20-year-old Evie Jesica Gallegos. According to police, inside the home, they also found a surviving victim who had been shot. Police say the victim was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The police department confirms that they have an arrest warrant for 20-year-old Leandro Medina for first-degree murder and assault in the first degree.

According to PPD, Leandro is not in custody and is considered armed and dangerous. If you know where he is, they ask that you call 719-553-2502 or Crime Stoppers 719-542-7867.
