Suspect in alleged road rage shooting at S. Academy and I-25 now in custody

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KRDO) - The El Paso County Sheriff's Office (EPSO) responded to a shooting on South Academy Blvd. near I-25 Thursday morning just after 11 a.m

EPSO said the shooting was a road rage incident and a motorcyclist shot another driver. The injured driver sustained a non-life-threatening gunshot wound and is in stable condition in the hospital.

The sheriff's office said they were able to identify the suspect and track them to a residence on Chadwick Drive in the Stratmoor Valley neighborhood near the original scene. The tactical unit responded to the location and took the suspect into custody around 5:20 p.m. Thursday.

The suspect has not been identified at this time.

EPSO said they are asking anyone who may have witnessed this incident to call their tip line at (719) 520-7777.
