Teller Co. Coroner confirms body recovered from Skaguay Reservoir is missing Canon City man
TELLER COUNTY, Colo. (KRDO) - The Teller County Sheriff's Office (TCSO) reported Tuesday evening that they were notified earlier in the day that a body had been found in Skaguay Reservoir.
The reservoir is about four miles east of Victor.
The TCSO said Colorado Parks and Wildlife (CPW) helped them recover the body Tuesday and they were waiting on positive identification from the county coroner.
Wednesday morning, the TCSO reported that the Teller County Coroner had positively identified the body as 76-year-old Fred Arnold.
Arnold was last seen on the morning of May 23, before he went fishing at Skaguay Reservoir. CPW began searching the reservoir and State Wildlife Area after Arnold's boat trailer and vehicle were found at the reservoir. CPW said a boat and life jacket were also found drifting in the water, which was 52 degrees.
