Pueblo-Colorado Springs Bustang Outrider service on-hold following I-25 train derailment

Colorado Department of Transportation

PUEBLO, Colo. (KRDO)-- The Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) has announced services on the Bustang Outrider route between Pueblo and Colorado Springs will be suspended until further notice.

The announcement comes following the closure of I-25 north of Pueblo, following a train derailment that occurred on Oct. 15.

CDOT officials stated since the detour route via US 50 and CO 115 is an additional 58 miles, it would impact scheduled connections with other Bustang and Outrider routes in Pueblo and Colorado Springs.

At this time, the Colorado Department of Transportation stated they do not know when I-25 will reopen, allowing Outrider to resume service between both cities.

The Outrider runs one roundtrip between Lamar, Pueblo, and Colorado Springs, seven days a week.
