The statement went on to say that the Town of Monument apologizes for any misinterpretations that were taken from the meeting. The intent of the meeting was to discuss the pros and cons of potential annexation, gauge interest in moving forward, and allow residents to express their opinions on their options, according to the statement.
The only way that the Gleneagle community can be annexed is for the residents to request annexation, according to the Town of Monument.
The statement also said negative comments were misdirected towards the mayor, and his involvement in this project was minimal.
