COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KRDO) -- The United States Attorney’s Office for the District of Colorado announced that Jeffrey Scott Taylor, a 51-year-old from Colorado Springs, was sentenced to 9 years in federal prison after earlier pleading guilty to being a felon in possession of a firearm.

According to court records, on April 9, 2022, officers with the Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD) were called to an apartment complex on Tappan Drive in Colorado Springs. Officers spoke with an individual who reported the defendant came to her apartment earlier that evening and said Taylor wanted to show her something.

She followed Taylor to his apartment, where he showed her a semi-automatic handgun sitting on his coffee table.
