DOUGLAS COUNTY, Colo. (KRDO) -- A teenager faces multiple charges after leading deputies with the Douglas County Sheriff's Office on a chase through Highlands Ranch that ended in her crashing into a house.

Friday around 10:23 p.m., deputies responded to a shots fired call from a large gathering of people. According to the sheriff's office, a deputy heard a white Mercedes SUV had sped away from the scene. Another deputy spotted a vehicle matching that description in the area and turned around.

The deputy tried stopping the car by turning on his lights and activating his siren. However, the driver refused to comply and drove into a neighborhood.

At that point, the deputy lost sight of the vehicle.

Deputies eventually caught up with the vehicle but lost sight of it again as it went around a curve. Once the deputy drove through that same curve, they saw the vehicle had crashed into the front of a house.

After crashing into the home, the sheriff's office said three teenage girls got out of the Mercedes and were immediately detained.

DCSO said the driver, 16, and a passenger, 17, were taken to a hospital for minor injuries. The backseat passenger, 16, wasn't injured.

The sheriff's office said while people were inside at the time, no one in the home was injured.

According to the DCSO, the driver was released to a parent pending potential charges of Vehicular Eluding, DUI, and Reckless Driving.

While it's been determined the teens weren't the ones who fired the shots, the sheriff's office said they were at the scene of the shooting.
