Postal worker shot at in Calhan, shooter identified

CALHAN, Colo. (KRDO) -- A United State Postal Service (USPS) worker was reportedly shot at while they were in Calhan.

According to USPS, The United States Postal Inspection, the law enforcement arm of the United States Postal Service, is responding.

The El Paso County Sheriff's Office (EPSO) is also investigating the situation.

Once a Calhan Police Department officer and EPSO deputies arrived on the scene, they discovered two adults indicating they were just shot at. The victims sustained no injuries, according to officials.

After further investigation, police determined the homeowner of the residence believed someone was stealing his mail.

EPSO says that at the time of the incident, one of the victims was working as a contracted employee of the United States Post Office delivering mail. The vehicle utilized was not marked with markings to indicate the service provided. 

The suspect was identified by EPSO as Stephen Teague.

Teague was arrested and booked into the El Paso County Jail on the charges of Felony Menacing with a Deadly Weapon and Misdemeanor Menacing.
