A shooting in Costilla County is under investigation

COSTILLA COUNTY, Colo. (KRDO) -- Deputies with the Costilla County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO), with assistance from the Colorado Bureau of Investigation (CBI), are investigating a homicide that happened in the Sangre de Cristo Subdivision and occurred on Saturday, August 13, 2022.

Jesus Lozano was shot at his home. He was later pronounced deceased at an Alamosa hospital.

the CBI says that preliminary information shows that there may have been a disturbance at the residence between the victim and another person or persons leading up to the shooting. 

Investigators believe this is an isolated incident, and that the victim and the suspect(s) may be known to one another, according to the CBI.
