Greeley high school student stabbed on campus, another student in custody

GREELEY, Colo. (KRDO) -- A high school student from Northern Colorado faces multiple charges in connection to a reporting stabbing on school grounds.

According to the Greeley Police Department, officers were dispatched to Jefferson High School at 11:43 a.m. Monday for a stabbing.

At the scene, officers found a juvenile victim with multiple stab wounds inside the school. The victim was taken to a local hospital for their injuries. According to police, the victim is expected to survive.

Officers took a juvenile student into custody without incident. They were then taken to Platte Valley Youth Services, a juvenile intake facility.

According to police, the suspect was charged with 1st Degree Assault, a Class 3 Felony, and Interference with Staff/Faculty/Students, a Class 1 Misdemeanor.

Due to the victim and suspect being underage, the GPD said they will not be releasing any further information. Police say there is no ongoing threat to the students, faculty, or surrounding area. Nobody else was injured in the assault.
