MANITOU SPRINGS, Colo. (KRDO) -- The Manitou Springs Police Department (MSPD) is seeking information after a suspect allegedly left the scene of a burglary and struck multiple patrol vehicles.

According to MSPD, around 6 p.m. on June 23, they responded to a burglary in progress at an apartment complex located off El Paso Boulevard.

Police say when they arrived, they found a suspect vehicle with a male driver and a female passenger attempting to leave. MSPD reports that officers tried to stop the vehicle and that the suspect rammed into a patrol unit.

Law enforcement says the suspect then tried to exit the parking lot when they hit a second patrol vehicle. The suspects then exited the vehicle and tried to run, according to MSPD.

The female was quickly stopped; however, police say the male driver is still at large.

According to police, he is described as a white male in his 20s, approximately 5 feet 6 inches tall and 130 pounds, with blonde hair and blue eyes. He was last seen wearing a white top and white bottoms.

MSPD ordered a shelter-in-place for the area around 9 p.m. while law enforcement searched for the suspect. The order was lifted over an hour later.

Police ask that anyone with information call the El Paso County Communications Center at 719-390-5555.
