A teenager has been arrested in connection to a fatal I-70 shooting

DENVER, Colo. (KRDO) -- According to our partners in Denver at 9News, a 17-year-old was arrested Thursday night. 9News says that according to the Denver Police Department (DPD) the teen was arrested in connection to the fatal shooting last month on Interstate 70.

The suspect that has not been named by law enforcement because he's a juvenile, was arrested in Westminster, DPD said in a news release sent to 9News.

DPD does not think that the victim, 31-year-old Kevin Piaskowski, and the shooter knew each other.

The shooting and crash happened just before 11 p.m. July 31 on westbound I-70 near the Northfield/Quebec exit, according to 9News.

There is dashcam footage that showed the accident. In the video, someone in a silver pickup truck fires shots into a vehicle in the next lane over, before the pickup crashes into the back of a semi, says 9News.

The driver of the Subaru, identified as Piaskowski, was taken to a hospital and was later pronounced dead, according to DPD.
