Mega Millions drawing Friday night is only the third $1 billion+ jackpot in lotto history
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KRDO) -- The next Mega Millions jackpot drawing is Friday at 9 p.m. MST and tickets are for sale until 7:30 p.m. Friday.
The pot is up to $1.1 billion meaning if you win, you walk away with more than $648 million in cash.
"This is very uncommon. This is only the third time in mega millions history that the jackpot has been over a billion," Tom Seaver, Colorado Lottery Director said.
Since the last jackpot winning, ticket sales in Colorado have totaled about $22 million, meaning about $8.6 million is going back to the state. Profits from the ticket sales are divvied up between Great Outdoors Colorado, The Conservation Trust Fund, and Colorado Parks and Wildlife.
