Pueblo Sheriff’s Department arrested two men that eluded deputies

PUEBLO, Colo. (KRDO) -- Pueblo County Sheriff’s (PCS) Detectives arrested Jared Berckefeldt and Geoffrey Partee-Gallegos, two men wanted for several crimes and eluding deputies.

Special Investigations Detectives arrested Berckefeldt on July 23 after they saw him driving on the West Side of the City of Pueblo. Detectives followed Berckefeldt to a gas station where they were able to box his vehicle in.

Berckefeldt was wanted on several warrants including two counts of felony eluding after he drove away twice from deputy’s attempting to stop him, including one instance where he rammed a deputy’s patrol vehicle. No one was injured, according to PCS.

PCS says that Berckefeldt had been sought since July 15 when deputies responded to a call of Berckefeldt potentially violating a restraining order.

Deputies found Berckefeldt sitting in a car near the location where the person he was restrained from was located. Deputies were attempting to contact Berckefeldt when he drove recklessly away, nearly hitting one of the patrol vehicles, according to PCS.

A woman that was with Berckefeldt was also arrested on unrelated warrants.

While deputies were responding to a person wanted for a theft call, they found a second man with Berckefeldt.

Geoffrey Partee-Gallegos was with Berckefeldt and was also wanted in connection with the Walgreens’ theft, says PCS.

Deputies located the suspects in the vehicle and as they attempted to contact them, the driver, identified as Berckefeldt drove away hitting a patrol vehicle. PCS says the suspect vehicle then left the area. The patrol vehicle suffered moderate damage.

Deputies sought and were issued arrest warrants for Berckefeldt and Partee-Gallegos in the incident.

On Monday, July 25, a deputy located Partee-Gallegos in the city of Pueblo and arrested him without
incident. He was arrested on warrants for first-degree assault, vehicular eluding, theft, complicity to
commit a crime, reckless endangerment, criminal mischief, fugitive of justice, and failure to appear, according to PCS. He has been booked into the Pueblo County Jail.

Berckefeldt was arrested on warrants for first-degree assault, two counts of vehicular eluding, two
counts of theft, complicity to commit a crime, two counts of reckless driving, two counts of criminal
mischief, two counts of reckless endangerment, and two warrants for failure to appear.
