Pueblo police arrest three in connection to shooting of juvenile female

PUEBLO, Colo. (KRDO) -- The Pueblo Police Department (PPD) says three people have been arrested in connection with a shooting that left a young female injured.

According to officials, PPD responded to a call around 8 p.m. on Aug. 15 about a shooting near the area of West 29th Street and Dillon Drive where they found a young female with two gunshot wounds. Detectives investigated and were able to identify multiple suspects. Officials say at that point both search warrants and arrest warrants were issued.

Those warrants were executed on Aug. 27, according to PPD, with help from the Colorado Springs Police Department's Tactical Enforcement Unit, El Paso County Sheriff's Office SWAT, Prowers County Sheriff's Office, the Colorado Bureau of Investigation, FBI, and Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, and PPD SWAT.

Search warrants were executed on five different residents from north Colorado Springs to the City of Pueblo the morning of Aug. 27, according to officials. At that time, two people were taken into custody in relation to the shooting. A third person was arrested in Prowers County.

20-year-old Anthony Vigil and 43-year-old Adam Fernandez both face two counts of complicity to commit attempted first-degree murder.

20-year-old Diego Martinez faces two counts of attempted first-degree murder.

PPD says the investigation remains ongoing and active. PPD says that as more evidence is connected and reviewed, the understanding of the incident may change.
