The Colorado Department of Public Health is distributing the Monkeypox vaccine

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KRDO) -- The Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE) is in the process of distributing monkeypox vaccines.

The CDPHE says the first doses will go to people most at-risk.

According to the CDPHE until the federal supply of the shot is more available they want to get it to the at-risk communities first.

That community includes men 18 and older who are gay, bisexual, or other men who have sex with men that have had anonymous sex partners recently. Anyone who has had close contact with someone who has monkeypox is also eligible for the vaccine.
