Woodland Park man, suspect in a sexual assault on a child case, faces new, unrelated charges
WOODLAND PARK, Colo. (KRDO) -- A Woodland Park man already a suspect in a sexual assault on a child case has been arrested for a separate sexual assault on a child charge.
According to the Woodland Park Police Department, 19-year-old Samuel D. Harris was arrested on July 13, 2022, for Sexual Assault-Under 15 Years Old, a Class 4 Felony.
According to police, this arrest comes from a months-long investigation concerning Harris engaging in "patterns of unlawful sexual conduct with minor females."
On June 17, 2022, officers received a report from two anonymous parties regarding a sexual assault of a 13-year-old girl. According to court documents, this happened two months before Harris was arrested for a similar case.
According to the arrest affidavit, the victim was concerned she was pregnant by Harris after an alleged assault in April.
After the victim's father was contacted by the WPPD, the affidavit says the father took the victim out of the state when he found out Harris was still in contact with her.
According to the affidavit, the victim told investigators she hung out with Harris after he was released from the first, unrelated sexual assault case. She told investigators she was aware of his charges.
According to court documents, the victim's father provided WPPD with screenshots of messages between the victim and Harris. Harris told the victim he "misses her."
Harris was arrested and is being held on no bond at the Teller County Jail.
The department is asking any other potential victims to come forward and contact Det. Sgt. Shannon Everhart to make a report. To reach the Woodland Park Police Department, call 719-687-9262.
