Suspects arrested in a Pueblo carjacking

PUEBLO, Colo. (KRDO) -- On July 13, 2022, at 5:30 p.m., the Pueblo Police Department (PPD) received a report of a carjacking at gunpoint.

The victim told PPD that he was carjacked at gunpoint by two females.

At 6 p.m. PPD found the victim’s vehicle near the intersection of Santa Fe Ave. and W. City Center Drive. When police attempted to stop the car, a pursuit started that continued to the south side of Pueblo.

The car was finally stopped after officers performed a Precision Intervention Technique (PIT). Both suspects were apprehended on the scene.

21-year-old, Destiny Garcia-Martinez and 40-year-old, Fashawn Garcia were arrested on charges of Aggravated Robbery and Vehicular Eluding.

Garcia had an active arrest warrant for Aggravated Motor Vehicle Theft. Her previous involvements
with Pueblo Police include 1st Degree Trespass, Aggravated Robbery, Theft, Criminal Mischief,
Aggravated Motor Vehicle Theft, and Vehicular Assault.
