Pueblo Police investigating multiple drive-by shootings, one juvenile suspect in custody

PUEBLO, Colo. (KRDO) -- Four suspects in multiple drive-by shootings in Pueblo were taken into custody Tuesday. According to police, at least one suspect has been arrested and charged.

Monday night, the Pueblo Police Department received multiple calls about drive-by shootings happening across several locations on the north and east sides of the city. According to the callers, a black truck was involved.

Tuesday, officers found the black truck in the area of 18th St. and Norwood Ave. at 11:08 a.m. Police say after a pursuit, the truck wrecked near the intersection of 13th St. and Eastern Ave. before coming to a stop in the 3000 block of E. 13th St.

According to police, four suspects ran from the truck. Officers were able to apprehend three of the suspects after a foot chase. The fourth suspect, however, managed to get away.

The driver was identified as 19-year-old, Christopher Trujillo, the front passenger was 18-year-old, Elijah Martinez and the back passenger was identified as a 16-year-old juvenile male.

Officers spent hours searching near the intersections of Juan Madrid Ave. and 15th St., and Nelson Ave. and 15th St.

Later in the day, the fourth suspect arrived at the police station and was taken into custody.

According to police, one "juvenile male" was arrested on charges of Vehicular Eluding, Auto Theft, Possession of a Handgun by a Minor, Criminal Mischief, and Domestic Violence.

Police say the juvenile suspect had previous involvements in Felony Menacing, Hit and Run, Theft, and Retaliation of a Witness/Victim.

The PPD says additional charges are pending regarding these incidents. Additionally, two handguns were recovered on the scene with a handgun visible inside the truck.
