Man shot in Colorado Springs early Saturday morning, police say likely not random

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KRDO) -- A man was shot just after midnight Saturday in northern Colorado Springs, according to the Colorado Springs Police Department.

Police said it happened in the area of 4400 N Chestnut Street around 12:06 a.m. when they received multiple reports of shots fired. Police also received a report from a witness who saw a gunshot victim in the same area.

Arriving officers said they found a man with a gunshot wound and called in medical personnel. The man was taken to the hospital.

Evidence on scene suggested multiple shots were fired, CSPD said.

No suspect information is available at this time but CSPD said this is not believed to be a random incident. The CSPD Violent Crimes Homicide/Assault Unit was notified of the case.
