KRDO

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KRDO) -- A man was sent to the hospital after getting shot in the chest during an altercation with a security guard at a nightclub on the east side of town early Saturday morning, according to the Colorado Springs Police Department.

It happened just after 12:30 a.m. Saturday in the 2500 block of East Platte Avenue when police said an armed man started threatening security guards at the nightclub.

CSPD said one of the security guards feared they were going to be shot themselves, and fired at the suspect hitting him in the chest.

The suspect fled the parking lot of the establishment and was taken to the hospital by a friend later on.
