Part of County Road 25 in Teller County closed early Sunday morning due to police activity
TELLER COUNTY, Colo. (KRDO) -- A man is facing felony charges after police arrested him during a traffic stop Sunday morning.
According to Woodland Park Police, officers tried stopping a car with an equipment malfunction around 2:52 a.m.
The driver didn't pull over when police turned on their lights. Police said the driver continued to drive at a slow speed as he turned off Hwy 24 onto CR 25.
More officers and Teller County Sheriff's deputies responded to help stop the driver. A deputy used a device to pop the car's tires.
The vehicle stopped near the intersection of Blossom Road After the car stopped, police say the driver tried to back up, hitting two police patrol cars.
Authorities arrested the suspected driver and took him to the Teller County Jail. Police identified him as 29-year-old Brady Bathrick.
Police said Bathrick had a suspended drivers license and is now charged with first degree assault of a peace officer, felony eluding, reckless endangerment, reckless driving, having an open container of marijuana, possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.
