Wanted man arrested after hitting a marked patrol car in southwest Pueblo

Pueblo Police Department (PPD)

PUEBLO COUNTY, Colo. (KRDO) -- A wanted man was arrested after he hit a marked patrol car on Sunday, May 1 in southwest Pueblo.

On Saturday, Pueblo police were searching for the suspect, 38-year-old Candido Aragon in the 1-100 block of Thames Dr., just after 10:45 a.m.

During the search, police found Aragon in a stolen car.

Police say they recovered a 9mm handgun and a sawed-off 20-gauge shotgun from the vehicle.

PPD say Aragon is a convicted felon. But due to recent changes in the law, Aragon couldn't be charged with Possession of a Weapon by Previous Offender.

Police booked Aragon on warrants of First-Degree Motor Vehicle Theft and Possession of a Dangerous or Illegal Weapon.

Aragon faces additional new pending charges too.
