Denver Art Museum returns artifacts back to Cambodia

DENVER (KRDO) -- Denver Art Museum returns four artifacts back to Cambodia after being linked to a man who was indicted by prosecutors in 2019.

According to 9News, The Washington Post reports Douglas Latchford was indicted after allegedly trafficking stolen artifacts.

"This process was the result of several years of dialogue with Cambodia," the museum said.

After the indictment, the art museum says they contacted Cambodian officials to get more information about the pieces in the collection.

Once Denver Art Museum removes the artifacts, the collection will be shipped back to Cambodia.
