Fremont County school bus driver arrested for allegedly slapping a child

FREMONT COUNTY, Colo. (KRDO) -- A school bus driver faces charges after allegedly slapping a child for not wearing a mask properly.

Thursday, the Fremont County Sheriff's Office arrested Jaquez Bertram Armand after he allegedly slapped a child for not wearing a mask properly while on a school bus. He faces charges of child abuse causing injury, third-degree assault, and harassment.

Armand was taken into custody with a bond set at $1,000. Deputies say he did receive a PR bond from the court and was released after being booked into the Fremont County Detention Facility.

No word on the extent of injuries the child experienced after being slapped.
