Hours-long standoff ends in Security

SECURITY, Colo. (KRDO) -- UPDATE 3:45 p.m.: The El Paso County Sheriff's Office says the standoff on Stingray Lane has ended.

The sheriff's office says the person involved in the standoff died by suicide.

Earlier

The El Paso County Sheriff's Office says a suspect barricaded inside a home in Security Thursday morning, and deputies are working to get them into custody.

The standoff is happening on Stingray Lane and started before 9 a.m.

Grand Mountain School has been placed on secured perimeter.
