MANITOU SPRINGS, Colo. (KRDO) -- Colorado Parks and Wildlife are reminding people to take down their sports nets after officers rescued a buck Thursday.

Officers responded Thursday to reports of a young deer getting caught in the net of a soccer goal post in Manitou Springs. When officers arrived, they found a buck thrashing "frantically" to rip free of the net. At one point, the buck even ripped out a steel bar and dragged the goal post.

CPW Tasered the buck and subdued it so they could untangle the net from its horns. The whole procedure took about 10 minutes.

This isn't the first time officers have had to rescue a deer from getting tangled in sports netting.

Back in October, CPW tranquilized a deer tangled in sports netting and spent 45 minutes releasing it.
