Pueblo police find body along Fountain Creek

PUEBLO, Colo. (KRDO) -- The Pueblo Police Department is investigating a dead body found along Fountain Creek on Thursday.

Around 10:40 a.m., citizens were checking the welfare of a person in the homeless camps nearby when they came across a dead body that had been buried in a shallow grave.

Officers are investigating the circumstances surrounding the person's death. The coroner will release the deceased person's identity once the next of kin has been notified. Police say this is a possible homicide investigation and they have several leads.
