DENVER (KRDO) -- Governor Jared Polis signed an executive order Saturday declaring a state of disaster emergency in response to the Pine Gulch Fire burning in Mesa and Garfield counties.

The executive order allows Colorado agencies to coordinate and make resources available for fire suppression, response, consequence management and recovery efforts.

The wildfire was started by a lightning strike on July 31 and is now the second-largest blaze in Colorado history. The largest wildfire was the Hayman Fire, which burned 138,114 acres from June 8 to July 18 in 2002.

952 personnel are actively extinguishing the Pine Gulch Fire, which is about 129,715 acres and 19% contained as of Sunday morning.
