Grizzly Creek Fire passes through Hanging Lake area, impact uncertain

GLENWOOD SPRINGS, Colo. (KRDO) -- The resort city of Glenwood Springs says the Grizzly Creek Fire is now within the boundaries of an iconic statewide landmark.
The latest information from the U.S. Forest Service shows the growing wildfire has passed through the Hanging Lake area, but it's unclear what the impact has been.
The Grizzly Creek Fire has grown to 13,441 acres as of Friday and more than 350 personnel are trying to extinguish the flames.
Governor Jared Polis said Friday morning that Grizzly Creek Wildfire is a top priority in the U.S. now. The wildfire has closed Highway 70, which is expected to remain closed for at least 2 more days.
