PUEBLO, Colo. (KRDO) — A woman is facing several charges after police say she rammed into her daughter’s car, tried to run her daughter over and then led police on a chase.

On Tuesday around 5:00 p.m., Pueblo police officers were dispatched to a home on Lancaster Drive near Doherty Road.

A 911 caller said two women were arguing, and one of them started chasing down the other in her car.  The woman left in a white sedan before officers got there.

Police said their investigation revealed that 39-year-old Jolene Iacabone had been arguing with her daughter. Iacabone allegedly got into her large SUV, and began ramming her daughter's sedan which was parked in the driveway.

The daughter ran outside and yelled for her mother to stop, pounding on the SUV’s window. Iacabone then began driving in circles as her daughter stood near the sidewalk.

Police said she eventually sped up, drove behind her daughter as she ran away in the street, and tried to hit her with the SUV.

The daughter ran across the street and through two yards as her mother chased her, driving through the yards. The daughter was able to cross back over to Lancaster Drive where she ran to a house down the street.

Iacabone went back to the original location where she parked the SUV in the middle of the lawn and got into her daughter’s sedan, according to police. She then left in the sedan and drove southbound on Lancaster Drive.

Police saw the sedan traveling into oncoming lanes of traffic at Lake Avenue and W Pueblo Boulevard. The sedan appeared to make a quick turn but spun out of control and went off the south side of the road.

The car struck a crosswalk pole and knocked it over which caused damage to the vehicle’s left rear tire. Officers said they tried to arrest the driver, but she swerved around one officer’s car and struck another officer’s car.

The woman drove onto to I-25 where she went northbound. Another officer saw the sedan on I-25 near the Abriendo Avenue interchange and observed smoke and sparks coming from the rear of the vehicle.

The officer tried to stop the vehicle, but the woman kept driving at a high speed on the damaged wheel.

The officer stopped chasing the car as it passed the 13th Street exit. The officer watched the vehicle swerve toward the Highway 50 Bypass exit and saw that it almost lost control as it turned to head eastbound on the Bypass.

Several people directed the officer to where the vehicle was stopped on Alexander Circle near Concord Lane. The officer arrested Iacabone there.

Iacabone was booked into the Pueblo County Detention Center on charges of Attempted Vehicular Assault, Eluding, and several other charges.
