A Star Wars collection that is out of this world
EL PASO COUNTY, Colo. - If you think you are the biggest Star Wars fan in Colorado, you may have trouble keeping up with a collector living in the Pikes Peak area.
Brendan Shank has been collecting Star Wars memorabilia since he was seven years old. Now all these years later he has accumulated a collection of more than 13,000 pieces. "I don't have any clothes that don't have Star Wars on them," Shank says.
Every inch from floor to ceiling in his home, a collection that would make the most die hard fan week in the knees. Star Wars posters, movies, life-sized characters, action figures, and more. The majority of his collection professionally graded and in plastic cases for quality.
His most expensive item, is a character called Vlix from the Star Wars show, "Droids" that came out in 1985. "One just sold on Ebay for 100-grand," Shank says.
As for the price of his entire collection, Shank tells us insurance has estimated all of it to be $2.35 million. "This is my wife and I's retirement," Shank laughs.
