Airlines offer waivers ahead of winter storm

Delayed flights anticipated

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KRDO) - In anticipation of winter weather this busy holiday travel week, many airlines are offering waivers for people traveling out of Denver International Airport and the Colorado Springs Airport.

Thousands of travelers are expected to come by the Colorado Springs airport over the holiday season, but this year's Thankskgiving could be accompanied with delays and cancellations.

"I heard there is a crazy storm so yeah it's a bit of a relief that I will still be able to make it home for Thanksgiving," said Savion Banks, a traveler.

Many have already taken advantage of the waivers and adjustments to policies some airlines are offering ahead of the storm.

"My mom looked at the weather and was like you're not going to be able to get out of Denver this afternoon and changed it to this morning," one traveler said.

If you're interested in doing the same, here is a breakdown of each airline's policy. Be sure to check with your airline for more information. You can also check flight statuses from Colorado Springs and Denver.
