BREAKING OVERNIGHT: Shooting shuts down area west of Downtown Springs

The Gold Hill Division of the Colorado Springs Police Department reported to KRDO that a shooting was called into the station just after midnight Saturday morning.

The shooting took place at the intersection of 17th and Uintah, near King Soopers.

When police arrived, they say they found a man suffering from a gunshot wound to the chest. He was quickly taken to a local area hospital to be treated for his injuries. He is expected to survive.

Police are now looking for the suspect’s vehicle described as a possible silver sedan. Police tell us there is no threat to the public at this time, but if you have any information about this incident you are asked to call non-emergency dispatch at (719)-444-7000.
