Police respond to serious injury crash in Colorado Springs

Colorado Springs police officers closed the intersection of Fillmore and Cascade Monday morning due to a hit-and-run crash involving a motorcycle.

Authorities report the crash is life-threatening and are asking the public to avoid the area.

A man was riding a motorcycle eastbound on Fillmore when a tan RV that was turning left struck him. An off-duty sheriff’s deputy commander and a firefighter paramedic were in the area at the time of the crash and began performing lifesaving measures on the man.

The man is currently at the hospital in critical condition.

A few hours after the crash, the RV believed to be associated with the hit-and-run was found abandoned near the crash.

Police are looking into the light cycle at the intersection to see who was at fault in the crash and interviewing witnesses.
