Colorado Springs man killed in Highway 115 crash

The Colorado State Patrol is investigating a deadly crash in Fremont County.

The crash happened around 8 p.m. on Tuesday on Highway 115, about four miles north of Penrose.

Troopers say a Honda Civic crashed head-on with a Dodge 2500 pickup. The Honda then caught fire.

The driver of the Honda, 41-year-old Anthony Mann of Colorado Springs was killed.

The driver of the Dodge, 51-year-old John Birkenfeld of Texas Creek was taken to the hospital with serious injuries. A passenger in the Dodge, 50-year-old Marshall Crosson of Cotopaxi was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

Troopers are investigating the cause of the crash.
