VA to open brand new clinic in Colorado Springs

A vision two years in the making is about to come to fruition as a brand new VA clinic will open on Centennial Blvd. in Colorado Springs next week. The two existing clinics on Fontanero St. and Spruce St. will close its doors this Wednesday.

According to the VA there will be a triage team on hand at the two clinics through the end of the week to assist veterans with urgent care needs.

The new facility is more than 70,000 square feet. It will soon house Cat Scan and MRI rooms which means vets will no longer have to go to Denver for radiology care.

“We see about 20,000 veterans in Colorado Springs,” VA spokeswoman Peggy Willoughby said. “It’s very important for our VA to provide care in this new facility and have everything under one roof. One stop shopping, it’s convenient for our veterans but it’s better health care as well.”

The new clinic will open August 18.
