Suspicious package detonated, ATF investigating
El Paso County deputies detonated a suspicious package on Mt. Shasta and Rankin Road in Black Forest.
Deputies say a call for a suspicious package came in at 10:50 Thursday morning. They found the package with an unknown object inside.
Deputies say the object was “consistent with an explosive device.”
The Explosive Ordinance Disposal (EOD) unit responded and “rendered the device safe by detonating the object.”
ATF also responded and is continuing the investigation.
No other details were given since it’s an ongoing investigation.
