Local family makes TikTok videos to help during quarantine

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KRDO) -- Meet the Vazquez-Miller family. They're a blended family of seven, and they're posting fun videos on TikTok to give people something to smile about while we're all stuck in our houses. One of their videos has over 50,000 views.

"We try to make daily TikToks," said JJ Vazquez, the dad of the house. "Once we post it to TikTok or on Facebook, people will start asking, 'Hey, when does the next one is come out? It's fun seeing you guys make the best of the situation.'"

The stars of the show are daughters Ainsley Miller, Ellie Vazquez and Makena Miller; sons AJ Vazquez and Beckett Miller; and parents JJ and Gretchen Vazquez.

The quarantine is especially important for the family because two members of the house have compromised immune systems. They also have family members in New York who contracted the coronavirus, and watched the videos to pass the time while they recovered. Now, more and more people are tuning in to see what the Vazquez-Miller family come up with next.

"I think that was a little bit more of a motivation for us to do this, because we're having an effect on others," JJ says.

"We are all here and we're stuck in this house," Gretchen says. "We can either cry about it or we can do something fun that the kids enjoy."

I'm happy that we can make other people happy," Makena says. "I'm glad that we're doing it."
