Black Sheep among bars set to close again following governor’s order

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KRDO) -- Bars and nightclubs are once again being ordered to close to in-person service due to an increase in COVID-19 cases in the state.

Gov. Jared Polis made the announcement Tuesday that the change would begin within the next 48 hours, although he did not specify exactly when they would have to close.

Bars will still be allowed to serve take-out alcohol, and if they serve food and function as restaurants they may remain open as long as they abide by social distancing rules and strict guidelines.

The Black Sheep is a venue/bar in Colorado Springs that was hoping to reopen in the next coming days following extensive remodeling, according to an employee. They even had a plan for a concert lineup to welcome visitors back.

But the Knob Hill-area rock venue says it will no longer be able to do so because they don't offer food.

The announcement comes two weeks after the reopening of bars at 25 percent capacity or up to 50 people.
