Pueblo West business owner speaks out about businesses getting broken into more than once
PUEBLO, Colo. (KRDO) -- A local business owner is sharing her frustration after one of her two businesses was broken into over the weekend.
Georgia Enslow owns the Liberty Pack and Ship as well as the 345 Auction. Sunday morning, the Liberty Pack and Ship was broken into.
According to Enslow, two men broke through the door using a metal crowbar. They only stayed in the store for less than 30 seconds because of the loud alarm system that went off.
Enslow said the robbers managed to steal some change from the cash registers and their cash drawer.
"They went right for the cash registers, but we're not silly enough to keep cash in our drawers. They did steal change because we keep our just the counting change in there," said Enslow.
According to Enslow, they also caused property damage.
"They destroyed our front door, so we weren't able to secure it properly. We had to wrap a big logging chain around it before because, obviously, it happened on a Sunday. And so we had to get somebody in here to get it fixed. And I'm grateful that we were able to fix it rather than having to replace it," said Enslow.
A woman was waiting in the car for the two men. According to the Pueblo County sheriff's office, the woman in the vehicle is a person of interest in this case.
Even though the two men didn't take much, she is frustrated, especially since this is not the first time one of her businesses has been broken into in Pueblo. Last June, Enslow said 345 Auction was broken into. She said $36,000 worth of goods were stolen.
She said this experience has also made herself and her employees frustrated.
"It makes them angry. It makes them feel violated. The loss of time having to chase down insurance companies and work with law enforcement investigators, personnel, you know, you feel scared, your personal safety. I mean, are they going to come in here next when somebody's here," said Enslow.
The two suspects and the women of interest have still not been caught. If anyone has seen these three people, please give the Pueblo County sheriff's office a call.
