Colorado Springs store sells $2 million Powerball ticket

A man walked into the Everyday store on Peterson Road for a cup of coffee but walked out with a Powerball ticket worth two-million dollars.

“I wish it was me,” Mishel Fields, a clerk at the store said. “He looks very familiar; I hope he’s a regular because good people around here need to win something.”

The ticket matched five numbers but not the Powerball. Employees say it was a three dollar quick pick with the Power Play option that led to the two-million dollar win. The ticket was sold Wednesday morning.

According to the Colorado Lottery the odds of matching five numbers is 1 in 5,153,633.

The winning Powerball numbers for Wednesday 16-17-22-46-54 and the Powerball is 35.
