Woodland Park artist paints a new perspective of Spring snowstorm

WOODLAND PARK, Colo. (KRDO) -- Instead of staring at a blank, white canvas, local artist Frank Glass stares at a blanket of white snow.

"It has to stem from something," Glass said.

Glass works out of his Woodland Park garage gallery called "Woodland Park Garden Gallery."

As a landscape painter, he's ready to take full advantage of Wednesday's Spring snow.

"It’s beautiful when Pikes Peak is covered is in a blanket of white," Glass said. "Oh, yeah, I love to be able to capture that moment."

Glass also has a rare talent. He can change the seasons on command.

“If it’s cold and snowy outside and I don’t want to be outside, then I’ll paint something warm!" Glass said. "That’s the beauty of color and canvas and brushes, is the possibilities are limitless."

Even so, Thursday's sunrise over a snowy Pikes Peak will be too good an opportunity to pass up for his next blank canvas.
