Randy Bishop facing over a dozen charges
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KRDO) -- Colorado Springs police have released more details of what led up to Randy Bishop's arrest on Sunday and outlined the 16 charges he's facing.
According to a release from CSPD Monday, police received information concerning the whereabouts of Bishop, a fugitive wanted on multiple felony charges including attempted murder of an officer.
At the scene, officers found Bishop driving a blue Mercedes in the 900 block of Tammany Drive. Officers tried to initiate a traffic stop but Bishop fled, leading officers on a brief pursuit in the 800 block of Tammany.
Officers used their vehicle to "disable" the Mercedes, according to CSPD. Bishop was then taken into custody without further incident.
Bishop was booked on the following charges, stemming from several incidents and ongoing investigations from both CSPD and the El Paso County Sheriff's Office:
- Unlawful Distribution, Manufacture, dispensing or Sale of a Controlled Substance
- Robbery
- Second Degree Assault
- Second Degree Kidnapping
- Second Degree Assault
- Felony Menacing
- Child Abuse
- Attempted First Degree Murder of a Peace Officer
- First Degree Assault
- Escape
- First Degree Aggravated Motor Vehicle Theft
- Disarming a Peace Officer
- Robbery
- Attempted First Degree Murder of a Peace Officer
- First Degree Assault on a Peace Officer
- Attempt to Commit Murder in the First Degree
